MONTREAL — Baulne Inc. hosted the 23rd annual meeting of the Chiller Systems Group (CSG) May 24-26 in Old-Montreal. Baulne installs, maintains, and optimizes building systems through the use of green, connected, and efficient technologies.
CSG, founded by the late Robert H. Owens in conjunction with Pat Rucker of Entech Sales and Service of Dallas in 1994, represents the best and brightest of the independent central chiller service organizations in the country.
Some 95 members, guests, and sponsors attended the three-day meeting. The opening reception took place in Old Montreal’s William Gray Hotel, as all the attendees gathered for a rooftop meet and greet. The meeting kicked off the next day with a full agenda of presentations by members and sponsors as well as committee reports and updates.
A highlight of the meeting was a tour of the SMARDT Chiller factory. The group observed firsthand the manufacture and production of a wide line of SMARDT chillers and components as well as SMARDT’s newly remodeled and expanded training center. The latter having numerous compressors and other equipment for hands-on training for all participants.
Presentations were made by Jonas Software, Trane, Bitzer, Financial Risk Solutions, MCS Controls, Summit Refrigerants, and SMARDT Chiller Group. The group heard of the latest technologies related to the service, operation, and upgrades of central chillers and plants. Included were multiple discussions on the ever-changing world of new and replacement refrigerants.
The next meeting of the Chiller Systems Group will be in the spring of 2018 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, hosted by Industrial Cooling of Freeport, New York. A final date had not been decided at the time of this press release.
