CHICAGO - LG Electronics held a press conference Tuesday morning at the AHR Expo to showcase the future of connected buildings from its building management solutions and controls to residential IoT products.

“LG is ushering in a new era of connectivity and redefining the industry standard, which is why we felt it was prudent to have a booth dedicated to our controls at AHR Expo, said Kevin McNamara, senior vice president, Air Conditioning Technologies, LG Electronics USA.  “We have taken a more agnostic approach by providing seamless connectivity with other building management systems. With a brand like LG, who prides itself on technological innovation and strong partner relationships, our customers expect us to continue to evolve the current technologies and launch forward-thinking products to deliver on that expectation.”

For commercial applications, the suite of advanced controls is comprised of the LG MultiSITE™ remote controller, communications manager, and VM3 building management solution – all of which allow operators to take control of their buildings in ways that were not previously possible. Also on display is LG’s dry contact module which allows for easy integration with third-party thermostats and sensors such as an occupancy sensor or the popular Nest® and ecobee™, allowing users to have greater flexibility in their HVAC system design. For light commercial and residential controls, 13 more models of LG’s indoor units will now be Wi-Fi enabled and compatible with the LG SmartThinQ™ app granting homeowners the convenience of controlling their air conditioning on-the-go alongside their other LG devices for a truly connected home. In addition, the SmartThinQ app has been recently integrated with both Amazon Alexa and Google Home’s Assistant which further improves ease of use and connectivity.
