Stephen Short has joined Johnstone Supply as manager of its Rochester branch. Short, who is responsible for all day-to-day operation of the facility, replaces George Shields. Shields was named manager of the Syracuse branch after longtime manager Bob Spanfelner retired.

Short has more than 20 years experience in the HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) industry. He began his career as an apprentice in Delaware and, most recently, was operations manager with the residential HVAC division of Triangle Refrigeration in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Short, his wife, Buffie, and five of their children live in Brighton. Another five children are grown. The Shorts have four biological children and six adopted special needs children.

Johnstone Supply is a nationwide, member-owned buying cooperative for HVACR equipment and supplies. Johnstone distributes parts and equipment to HVACR contractors and to facilities maintenance staffs. Each member store is independently owned and operated. Ken Livingston owns the stores at 95 Halstead Street in Rochester and 835 Canal Street in Syracuse.
