HARDI released the third quarter Unitary Market Share report to participating distributor members. The third quarter report provided insight into the furnace and ducted unitary markets. According to the report, more than half of furnace sales are at the lower end of the efficiency range and a third at the high end. The third quarter report also provided insight into the demand for condensing units by efficiency levels. Participants now know how this was trending per month this year in their regions, and for heat pumps or air conditioners, by refrigerant type, and greater detail of the SEER levels, and the year-to-date shares.

“The Unitary Market Share report is providing insight that is not available anywhere else,” said HARDI. “Better DataSM maintains the database of model numbers and organizes the information. Participants have reported that the monthly data collection process is very simple and able to be completed in minutes.”

In exchange for contributing their unitary sales data, participants receive the quarterly reports and will soon receive the 2013 annual report. For more information or to participate, contact Toby Swope at tswope@drintl.com or Brian Loftus at bloftus@hardinet.org.
