ABERDEEN, S.D. — The Dakota Supply Group (DSG) acquired Woodruff Co., a distributor of plumbing and heating products in southern Minnesota. Based in Rochester, Minnesota, with locations in Austin and Winona, Woodruff will now be known as DSG, but it will retain its staff, and virtually all other proceedings will be business as usual for customers and manufacturers alike.
According to DSG, this new partnership will further develop DSG’s service area in southern Minnesota, eastern Wisconsin, and Iowa. Woodruff will add nearly 20 employee owners and more than 60 years of distribution history to the DSG brand.
“Our companies are a natural fit, sharing an intense commitment to the long-term success of our partners, whether they are customers or manufacturers,” said Tom Rosendahl, president of DSG. “Things will not change radically. Instead, customers should look forward to the improvements that come from a powerful synergy like this.”
DSG utilizes an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). Employee owners operate the business as a team, focusing on a single goal: the success of DSG’s customers. Known at the company as the power of we, this philosophy makes DSG unique because customers are always working with an owner, according to DSG.
