BELOIT, Wisc. — Regal Beloit Corp.'s new UlteMAX axial integral horsepower motor received an Excellence in Design award from appliance DESIGN magazine.
The Excellence in Design awards are presented annually. Selection is based on the following criteria: innovation, simplicity, strong functionality for the user, environmental footprint and cost savings. Winners receive either Gold, Silver or Bronze awards in each of 10 categories. The UlteMAX motor received a Silver Award in the HVAC category.
“We are honored to receive this designation from appliance DESIGN and excited to bring this game-changing motor to the marketplace,” said Howard Richardson, business leader, Regal. “The UlteMAX technology is the proud culmination of innovative engineering that extends beyond obvious benefits for our customers.”
The motor is less than one-half the weight and size of traditional induction motors and includes an integrated configurable control for fast, easy installation, operation and serviceability. The UlteMAX motor and control also reduce the average motor inventory by 50 percent through consolidation into easily configurable sizes ranging from 3 to 15 HP.
