Even though summer doesn’t technically start until June 21, I, like many of you, count all of June and sometimes May in this season. And by that measure, HARDI has had a busy summer so far.

In the past month, we conducted a successful Congressional Fly-in again during this midterm election year with HARDI members meeting face-to-face with our Washington representatives and their staffs to promote good policies for our industry – or industries, rather. HARDI brings an interesting perspective when we rendezvous in D.C. every year with us representing both the HVACR industry vertical as well as the wholesale distribution industry. Thanks to your efforts and HARDI’s efforts over the years on the advocacy front, we have a bit of clout on the Hill, and it shows year after year.

We also just held our biggest Focus Conference in our Marketing & Sales event in Miami. With about 200 people there all talking about these aspects of HVACR distribution business, this event continues to be a valuable resource available to HARDI members.

Looking ahead, in just a few weeks, HARDI will announce the theme to this year’s HARDI Annual Conference and open up registration for attendees and booths. I’ve seen what’s in store for this year, and I am sworn to secrecy until the launch, but I can tell you this year’s theme is a very, very good one we can all relate to. Mark your calendars to register on July 11.

Lastly, the Emerging Leaders Summer Conference is coming up at the end of July. Unfortunately, this is the one HARDI event I won’t be able to make it to this year, but I can’t stress enough how great of an event this continues to be for HARDI members. The Emerging Leaders program provides the opportunity for our up-and-comers to come together, learn from mentors who have been in the industry for years, and put great ideas into practice.

I hope you all have a great rest of your summer, and I hope to see you all at HARDI events later this year.
