PITTSBURGH — Power management company Eaton announced it has reached an agreement with Havtech to provide distribution for Eaton’s variable frequency drives (VFDs) designed for HVAC applications. Havtech, located in Columbia, Maryland,l is one of the mid-Atlantic’s largest commercial HVAC equipment distributors. The collaboration will enable both Eaton and Havtech to better support its customers’ energy efficiency requirements through Eaton’s industry-leading VFD solutions.

Eaton offers several series of VFDs for HVAC applications, including the PowerXL line called the PowerXL DH1. This series is specifically designed to address the need to lower energy costs and maximize system uptime. The drives are engineered with Eaton’s patented Active Energy Control® which monitors the output requirements of the motor while reducing the input power requirements of the VFD. This feature can increase energy savings by up to 10 percent in fan and pump applications compared to standard VFDs, giving the customer even greater energy and cost savings.
