TUCSON, Ariz. — Technical Training Associates added a new title to its HVACR Troubleshooting series: "HVACR Troubleshooting Fundamentals: Electricity & Wiring Diagrams Student & Instructor Package."
This HVACR electrical training package includes a 420-page spiral bound training manual, an accompanying instructor guide, and PowerPoint supplement. The book is clearly written and easy to understand, providing a basic foundation for learning how to use wiring diagrams and test equipment to troubleshoot HVACR electrical systems. Designed for HVACR students, apprentices, and technicians new to the craft, it can be effectively used in training programs with guidance from instructors and service managers to help technicians develop their troubleshooting skills.
Topics in the manual include: generating electricity and electron flow; alternating current, direct current, and electrical power; electrical distribution systems; electrical circuit protection; proper use of test instruments; wiring diagram structure; HVACR motors; wiring diagram review of gas and electric heating systems; comfort cooling equipment and heat pumps; and troubleshooting problems.
Each unit in the study manual includes end-of-section review questions and exercises that can be torn out and handed in for instructor evaluation. The instructor’s guide and PowerPoint contain the answers to the end of section exercises, and the solutions to the 15 troubleshooting problems in the study manual appendix.
