Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US (Suwanee, Georgia) was awarded a National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) 2018 Global Innovation Award for its MLZ One-Way Ceiling Cassette in the Best Energy Efficient Product category.

Johnson Controls Inc. (Milwaukee) received a Bronze award at the 2019 Edison Awards for its YORK® YZ Magnetic Bearing Centrifugal Chiller.

Fieldpiece Instruments (Orange, California) announced the opening of its UK office.

Delta (Fremont, California) was recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as an Energy Star® Partner of the Year.

Broan (Cincinnati) was recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as an Energy Star® Partner of the Year.

ORGANIZATIONS

The Chicago City Council voted to adopt the 2018 International Building Code, which will align the city’s construction requirements with up-to-date model codes and national standards. It is the city’s first comprehensive revision to the building code in 70 years.

The International Code Council (ICC) and the Alliance for National & Community Resilience (ANCR) launched the Housing Benchmarks Committee to develop benchmarks for determining housing resilience in U.S. communities.
