PORTLAND, Ore. — GreenSavers won a fourth consecutive Energy Star Contractor of the Year award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). GreenSavers earned the award for leadership and innovation in energy efficiency retrofits for Oregon homeowners.

Only two companies, including GreenSavers, have ever won the Energy Star Contractor of the Year Award more than three years in a row. In 2018 and 2019, GreenSavers was presented with the Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award.

“I applaud the 2019 Energy Star Award winners,” said EPA Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation Bill Wehrum. “Their innovation and leadership enhance America’s economic competitiveness. Reducing costly energy waste improves air quality and public health while protecting the environment.”

In 2018, GreenSavers completed 650 projects for homeowners in Oregon with total energy savings of almost 700,000 kWh. That’s enough energy to completely offset the energy used by 59 average homes for a year, eliminating about 500 metric tons of CO2.

“We’re incredibly honored,” says Robert Hamerly, GreenSavers principal. “Our clients are the ones who deserve most of the recognition. They’re the ones who light the spark, taking the initiative to improve how their homes use and lose energy.”
