HOUSTON — The fifth staging of Valve World Americas Expo & Conference organized by KCI Publishing Corporation and Messe Düsseldorf North America was held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. There were 4,361 attendees for the entire event, including over 700 conference delegates, a new record.
Nearly 300 manufacturers and service providers exhibited as part of the event. The Speakers’ Corner stages, located in the heart of the expo floor, hosted presenters who discussed a variety of topics and performed live demonstrations. New student research technologies from San Jacinto College and the University of Houston were introduced.
The conference, which ran concurrently with the exhibition, began each day with keynote lectures given by representatives from MRC Global, Emerson, Phillips 66, Tesoro’s Par Hawaii Refining, Dow Chemical, and professional motivational speakers Mary Kelly and Meridith Elliott Powell. Tim Goedeker, senior principal environmental consultant of HSE, Refining, Phillips 66 was the chairman.
Conference sessions were filled with delegates who challenged the speakers with educated and thoughtful questions and many in-depth discussions followed. There were 15 different workshops with a variety of presentations and panel discussions, including offering the first fully-dedicated Spanish language session.
On June 18, six informative courses were held on the following topics: valve essentials, fugitive emissions, API 6D pipeline valves, and fluid sealing association courses.
The next staging of the Valve World Americas Expo & Conference will take place from June 23 – 24, 2021, in the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.
