WOOSTER, Ohio — Founder of Alan Manufacturing Inc. in 1992, Richard Allan Bluestone passed away December 6, 2019, at the age of 74. He had over 50 years of experience in HVAC. His father, Morris, and siblings Leanoard and Barbara started L.B. Manufacturing Inc. in 1952. Know to be dedicated to his family, Richard is survived by his wife Natalie (nee Sherr), his children Matthew Lorin Bluestone and Beth Adena (Rich) Rund, and his grandson Michael Rund. His siblings — Leonard, Betty Jean, and Barbara Ann Bluestone — have all preceded him in death. 

The company said that his passing has been a time of great sadness and bereavement. Although both the company and the family are mourning, each are celebrating Richard’s accomplishments in the HVAC industry.

“He was a true entrepreneur in the HVAC industry, from damper components to assembly, a lot of which are standard in today's environment,” stated Alan Manufacturing Inc. “Richard was a great leader and extremely loyal to anyone that had the pleasure of working with/for him. He was a very dedicated man and loved his work, so much so that some would argue if he really thought of it as work.”

He also left his fingerprints behind in the name of the company: A stands for Richard “Allen”, L for Matthew "Lorin", A for Beth "Adena", and N for "Natalie".
