ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) announced its cancellation of its 2021 Annual Conference and Expo.
According to the organization, this was done after consultation with the ACCA Events Committee regarding the health and safety of everyone in the HVACR industry. The event was scheduled for February 21-24 in New Orleans.
“Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the COVID-19 virus, the ACCA Events Committee felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation,” said Barton James, ACCA president and CEO. “While there is disappointment regarding the postponement of this event for our members, event attendees, partners, and exhibitors, we know this is the right decision based on the information we have today.”
Factors that were considered to determine the cancellation included reviewing information about COVID-19 infection rates, exhibitors travel and quarantine restrictions, and member travel abilities.
“We were hoping to be able to see everyone in New Orleans, but we know this is the best decision for right now,” said Brian Stack, chairman of the events committee. “We are looking forward to seeing everyone at an ACCA conference very soon. We are offering attendees the opportunity to transfer their paid registration to a future in-person ACCA event. Registrants and exhibitors will be contacted directly with their options.”
While ACCA is working on holding an in-person event for the fall of 2021, the next Annual Conference and Expo will be held in St. Louis on March 28-30, 2022. ACCA will be in New Orleans on April 2-5, 2023.
