CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio — Foundation Investment Partners (FIP) announced it has finalized an agreement with Weiss Instruments LLC to purchase the 140-year-old company. Weiss Instruments is a Holtsville, New York-based manufacturer of temperature and pressure instruments for HVACR and OEM customers. The fifth generation business has been in business since 1882. Under this agreement, FIP will combine the manufacturing facility with the recently purchased Miljoco Instrument Corporation at their 50,000 square foot facility in Mt. Clemens, MI.

“We are excited to bring the Weiss Brand into the FIP Portfolio and our plans are to further strengthen Weiss’s ability to serve customers with a continuation of their quality and service reputation," said David Wood, president of FIP. “By combining the two manufacturing facilities into one factory, we will combine the best manufacturing practices of both companies. What we will not be combining is the Weiss and Miljoco brands and distributions and rep networks, as the Weiss and Miljoco brands will be sold and marketed separately.”

The Weiss brand manufactures temperature and pressure instruments for commercial HVACR and OEM customers. Weiss’s portfolio includes HVAC thermometers and pressure gauges, OEM dial thermometers for food service industry, and their growing line of sustainable light powered thermometers for air conditioning, refrigeration, foodservice, food retail, and industrial applications.

“We are committed to make the transition as seamless as possible to our customers," stated John Weiss, president of Weiss.

“We look forward to working with the Weiss family and are honored to be able to carry on and grow the Weiss brand," stated Howard Trerice, president of Miljoco Corporation.

Steve Weiss has re-joined the company as VP of sales and marketing.
