Representatives of one of the country’s major HVAC wholesalers gathered recently in Grapevine, Texas for the Winsupply Inc. biennial conference and vendor showcase; close to Earth day, more homeowners appeared to be thinking globally and acting locally when it comes to home energy consumption, much of which is claimed by HVAC systems; after years of neglect, school districts and local governments are finally investing in the HVAC systems at their facilities, with one governor proposing legislation to establish a grant program to assist public school districts in paying for HVAC and other IAQ improvements; and HVAC contractors face an increased risk of theft as both the equipment they install and maintain, as well as the vehicles in which they transport that equipment, prove prime targets for thieves.
