Andy Barrenechea
Born in Costa Rica, before moving to Atlanta, Andy Barrenechea never envisioned a career in the HVAC industry. That fact is further evidenced by his degree in biomedical engineering from Georgia Tech with a certificate in entrepreneurship.
After graduation, Andy’s last stop on his journey to the world of HVAC was at Bain & Company. There he worked as an associate consultant. His short time there exposed Andy to a wide variety of clients and several successful business models. He gained valuable insights that would be deployed when he became a young member of the HVAC community.
After working in management consulting for two years, he was eager to get more hands-on business experience. Andy joined Goodman Manufacturing Co. He envisioned the opportunity to engage with members of the entire HVAC community, working to help everyone live more comfortably indoors.
Andy’s impact at Goodman was immediate. Andy not only excelled in the position, but his efforts helped to increase sales and margins resulting from the various programs and promotions he originated.
Andy eventually transferred to RectorSeal in 2021, joining as the director of sales operations and analytics. Currently, he is engaged in pricing strategy and optimization, inside sales, marketing, and promotions. His desire is to help drive share-of-wallet growth with both large customers and smaller customers.
“I want to work to continue to make this an industry that attracts top talent, in order to support the HVAC contractor base that works hard to keep us comfortable year round. Personally, I hope to progress in a marketing/analytics role leading high-performing teams that have a positive impact on the HVAC industry,” Andy said.
