Four students are getting a helping hand, thanks to Ridgid.

The tool and equipment manufacturer awarded scholarships through the Educational Foundation of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association.

PHCC administers the scholarship program, which is designed to attract new talent to the plumbing and HVACR industry. It is also responsible for selecting the award winners.

Scholarship recipients will receive up to $1,000 in tuition assistance and $1,500 in Ridgid tools.

“Ridgid Tools are designed and manufactured for the professional tradesperson,” said Craig Sumner, director of Ridgid brand management. “We are proud to sponsor scholarships that further the education of apprentices as they work to become plumbing and HVACR trade professionals.”

The 2012 scholarship recipients were: Tyler Arndt of Brooklyn, Wis.; Justin Gould of San Diego; Dana Parks of Imperial Beach, Calif.; and Matthew Saille of El Cajon, Calif. Each recipient works full time for a PHCC member company and are also enrolled in a technical apprentice program.
