York, Pennsylvania-based Double ‘D’ Roofing & Sheet Metal won an award for its charity efforts.
A $7,500 donation will be made to a charity of the company’s choosing as a winner of the CNA and National Roofing Contractors Association’s Community Involvement Award.
The company chose to donate the money to Shadowfax Corp., a private, nonprofit human services agency that helps disabled individuals find jobs.
The award was presented during the 2018 International Roofing Expo’s awards ceremony and reception Feb. 7 in New Orleans.
“Each year, the roofing industry shows such tremendous generosity by giving back to their communities in so many wonderful ways,” said NRCA CEO Reid Ribble. This award allows us to shine a light on the strong giving spirit that exists within our industry, and I am proud to be a part of it.”
The second place winner, Action Roofing Hawaii LLC of Kapolei, Hawaii, gave its $5,000 donation to Kahauiki Village, a community for homeless, working families. Third place went to O’lyn Roofing of Norwood, Massachusetts, which provided its $2,500 donation to the Home for Little Wanderers, a private child and family service agency.
