Florida Quality Roofing was recently given two awards for its sustainable work.

The Miami Gardens, Florida-based contractor was honored with the Spotlight Trophy for the Advancement of Roofing Award from the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association, for its use of unique, green products.

“We are delighted and honored to receive these two awards. It’s a great privilege to be among the best of the best in our industry,” said Stella Amador, vice president of the company.

 The company was called out for restoring a water-damaged condominium roof in Hollywood, Florida.  Given the client’s budgetary constraints, Florida Quality Roofing found an economical, sustainable solution for replacing the roof — to restore it using a reflective silicone roof coating that increases roof performance by reflecting sunlight, keeping the building cooler, and reducing air conditioning and energy costs. The new silicone roof coating also qualified the condominium association to receive energy-saving rebates.
