Northeastern Sheet Metal Inc. of Goffstown, N.H., recently purchased a spiral duct elbow machine from Standard Sheet Metal Machinery of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

NESM officials said they bought the model SE-450 because it offered a way to fabricate a strong duct elbow without the need to seal its seams.

The machine also offers a near-zero scrap rate and can make elbows up to 18 inches in diameter.
