Fieldpiece Instruments says its new hand-held carbon dioxide leak detector is exceptionally responsive, economical, easy to use, and easy to handle. Designed for the HVAC field service technician, the SCL2 has a rechargeable battery that lasts a full eight hours. It also uses an IR sensor that is designed to last up to 10 years. The Fieldpiece SCL2 has three sensitivity levels to minimize false readings and to quickly find the locations of both large and small leaks. The detector allows HVACR technicians to measure surrounding carbon dioxide levels and detect possible sources of dangerous contamination from commercial refrigeration units. The moisture filter keeps water and other contaminants out of the unit. Included with the SCL2 are ten easily replaceable filters and five extra O-rings, wall and vehicle charger, 9-inch needle tip probe and flex extension, replacement filters and O-rings, and protective blow-molded case.
