A group of
Johnson Controls’ unitary products division workers recently competed a
five-day “boot camp” training program in Norman, Okla.
The Feb. 16-20
event was for territory managers who worked with Johnson Controls’ Luxaire and
Coleman brands. The exercises taught the new managers the resources available
to dealers and distributors, and included a presentation by Gary Elekes, a
faculty member with Johnson Controls’ Business Training University.
“The goal of our boot camp program is
to help our territory managers become experts at explaining our dealer-level
business and marketing programs,” said Johnson Controls training manager
Natalie DeRousse, who works in the unitary products division. “By sharing their
expertise, our ‘TMs’ can assist dealers as they plan for and achieve success in
their businesses.”
TM is Johnson Controls’ shorthand for
territory managers.
Bryan Stephens, territory manager for
Johnstone Supply in Harahan, La., earned the highest combined quiz and
final-exam scores among boot camp attendees. He received a $500 Best Buy gift
card.
