A gathering to discuss the energy conservation needs of retailers and challenge HVACR, lighting and related suppliers to meet them is scheduled for Thursday.
The Retailer Energy Alliance Supplier Summit, whose membership includes the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, will meet at 1 p.m. at the Marriott Denver West in Golden, Colo.
Other members of the newly formed alliance include Food Lion, Best Buy, Home Depot, Kohl's, McDonalds and Wal-Mart, with the U.S. Energy Department in a coordination and support role.
“The summit is a unique event to learn about challenges that prevent retailers from utilizing a cost-effective, energy-efficient strategy for their operations and to begin a dialogue to find opportunities to meet those challenges,” said Don Colliver, ASHRAE’s representative on the alliance.
