Thirty-five contractors are expected to take a course and exam on green building next month in Chicago.

The Unified Group is sponsoring a training class and certification exam for members on the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design new-construction standard March 25-26 in Chicago.

“There has been a lot of interest among our members to do a LEED training,” said Julie Bishop, the Unified Group’s executive director. “It’s just one more way our members can distinguish themselves from the other contractors out there.”

The course will be taught by Dave Hubka, sustainable project manager at Total Mechanical Inc. in Pewaukee, Wis.
