Eleven territory managers graduated from Johnson
Controls’ basic “boot camp” that was held March 9-13 at the company’s unitary
products headquarters in Norman, Okla.
The camps provide managers with the information they
need to succeed, company officials said. Topics included selling through
consultation and understanding the world of HVAC contracting.
Attendees also received details on the York brand
and Liberties marketing programs, which provide advertising materials and other
online business tools.
The program included a presentation
by Gary Elekes, a professional business trainer and faculty member with Johnson
Controls-Unitary Products’ Business Training University.
“By highlighting the innovative resources available to York
distributors and dealers, we equip territory managers to help dealers manage
the challenges of running a contracting business,” said Natalie DeRousse, sales
training manager for Johnson Controls-Unitary Products. “The ability of
territory managers to explain and help implement our dealer-level business and
marketing programs positions them as value-added partners who positively impact
contractor success.”
Recognized at the end of the event was
Wayne Lewis, territory manager for Plumbers Supply Co. in Louisville, Ky. He
earned the highest combined quiz and final-exam scores among attendees and
received a $500 Best Buy gift card as a reward.
