RAE Corp’s coils division announced
Thursday it is raising prices on new quotes because of rising materials
prices.
“Despite
reduced demand for these materials, commodities are experiencing significant
speculative activity,” said Kevin Trowhill, vice president of sales for RAE
Corp. “This speculation, combined with the weak U.S. dollar, has resulted in
the dramatic increases for copper and aluminum.”
The
amount of any price increase will vary by how much aluminum or copper the
product contains, officials said.
