ABB has moved its North American headquarters from Connecticut to North Carolina.
Automation technology company ABB
has moved its North American headquarters to Cary, N.C., officials announced.
The new offices will be the base
for overseeing 15,000 workers in the United States, Canada, Caribbean, Mexico
and Central America.
Enrique Santacana, president and CEO of ABB North
America, said the selection of Cary was logical.
“ABB already has a significant and growing presence
in the Raleigh-Cary metropolitan area in terms of proximity to some of our key
customers, our employee base, and various divisional headquarters,” Santacana
said. “After a thorough analysis of economic trends, commercial property rates
and other cities, it became clear that there were many advantages in moving our
headquarters to Cary.”
The company’s former Norwalk,
Conn., headquarters will continue to operate as the company gradually relocates
staff and operations, officials added.
