Uponor
brought 60 North American consulting and specifying engineers to its first
Radiant Cooling Engineering Summit last month.
The
April 8-9 event at the Bellagio casino-hotel in Las Vegas included lectures,
discussions, a product show and tours of radiant-using projects.
"Since 2005, radiant
heating and cooling system specifications have risen 36 percent, so that
approximately 8.5 percent of all new commercial construction is now specified
with this technology," said summit program host Dan Sullivan, Uponor’s senior
product manager for its commercial radiant business. "By 2013, that
fraction is projected to rise to around 13 percent."
Uponor’s 2010 took place at
the same time, attracting 688 plumbing and mechanical contractors, sales staff
and distributors.
