Made to be compatible with the
company’s energy management system and its Smart Thermostat, the module was
designed for increased automation and control, the company said.
“The Remote Sensor Module
will enable Ecobee customers to average temperatures, control humidity and
measure CO2 (carbon dioxide),” said Ecobee President and CEO Stuart Lombard. “Further,
in commercial applications we are seeing our customers use the Remote Sensor
Module in schools, churches, convenience stores, fast-food restaurants and
office buildings. Our energy management system’s applications are as varied as
our customers, from monitoring walk-in freezers to sending an alert if a door
is opened. Our customers can now benefit from even greater control and energy
savings with the Remote Sensor Module.”
