American pop-rock band Maroon 5 will perform at
Greenbuild Oct. 5.
The Grammy-winning band will appear at the Air Canada
Centre following a speech by New York Times Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist
Thomas Friedman, officials with the U.S. Green Building Council said. The USGBC
is host of the Oct. 4-7 sustainability conference.
"We're thrilled to host one of music's biggest bands, Maroon 5, for
what will be an unforgettable evening of inspiration and celebration,"
said Kimberly Lewis, the USGBC’s vice president of conferences and events.
"The green building community has so much to celebrate, and there is no
better place to let loose then at this can't-miss event."
Adam Levine, Maroon 5’s lead singer and a judge/coach on NBC-TV’s “The
Voice," said the band was excited about the engagement.
"The band and I are looking forward to heading to Toronto for
Greenbuild 2011," Levine said. "The environment is a cause that the
entire band deeply cares about and we are excited to help kick off the 10th
anniversary of this important event."
