Members of the Air Conditioning
Contractors of America are feeling optimistic about short-term growth this
year. The association released its June Contractor Comfort Index, which had a
score of 66. An index number over 50 reflects anticipated growth for ACCA
contractors.
The ACCA began measuring contractor attitudes
toward short-term economic growth with the CCI in February 2010. While the June
CCI does reflect a positive outlook among contractors, the number is lower than
the June 2010 CCI, which was at 69.
The CCI is calculated
based on a survey of the association’s contractor members, who are asked how
positive they feel about new business prospects, existing business activity,
and expected staffing decisions in the short-term future.
