The
International Builders’ Show is shortening the event by one day, starting next
year.
Formerly
a four-day trade show, the expo will run Jan. 22-24, 2013, in Las Vegas.
Industry professionals no longer have the luxury of
leaving their jobs for several days of exhibits and educational sessions, said Mark
Pursell, senior vice president of the National Association of Home Builders’ exhibition,
marketing and sales group, which sponsors the show.
"It's a trend that professional convention and expo
planners see in all fields - not just the home building industry," Pursell
added. "Attendees are eager to get back to their businesses and put the
new knowledge about, products, services and management to work right away.
Businesses must be more nimble to thrive in today's economy."
To
compensate for the compacted schedule, the show will run 30 minutes longer each
day.
"It's all about helping our attendees and exhibitors
meet with each other in a much more efficient way," Pursell said. “Tightening
the trade show floor experience to three full days with expanded hours saves
everyone money and results in a more productive experience for all."
This year’s Builders’ Show - running four full days -
takes place Feb. 8-11 in Orlando, Fla.
