CertainTeed’s fiberglass liner
products now extend to spiral duct. The company has launched ToughGard
Ultra-Round duct liner.
The company says the liner has several advantages over conventional
double-wall liner, including a tough, fire-resistant airstream surface, scored
to make installation in spiral duct easier. It also has better acoustics
installers may find pins and adhesives unnecessary in most straight-duct
situations.
“Our HVAC insulation products are proven to enhance system
efficiency and contribute to more healthy and acoustically sound buildings,”
said Ken Forsythe, senior product manager for the company’s mechanical and industrial
insulation group. “The addition of ToughGard Ultra-Round to our product
portfolio brings these benefits to an even greater number of applications, and
provides real cost savings over double-wall spiral construction for builders
and contractors.”
Other benefits of the liner include thermal insulating
and less energy consumption, as well as an anti-microbial coating to resist mold,
officials said.
