Follansbee Steel is still operating while it seeks a
buyer, company officials said.
The company is filling new and current orders from
existing inventory, and will bring in new product as required, officials said.
The West Virginia-based steelmaker announced last month
that it could close unless a buyer for the company is found.
In a press release, the company said several firms had expressed
“a
large amount of interest” in purchasing the maker of KlassicKolors and Terne II
metal roofing products.
“In the hopes of both job and customer
retention, Follansbee Steel is in active discussions with these potential
buyers as operation continues,” the release said.
