West Coast manufacturing trade show
Westec is coming to Los Angeles next year with a new schedule.
Previously an annual spring event,
Westec will become a biennial fall trade show, which will take place Oct.
15-17, 2013, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Attendees and exhibitors drove the
change, according to Christine Longroy, the show’s event manager.
“Over the last year, we made
a conscious effort to listen and understand the needs of our customers and
partners,” Longroy said. “We know they have to maximize their outreach and
marketing budgets, and moving Westec to the fall beginning in 2013 is the
direct result of us responding to that feedback.”
Westec is produced by Dearborn,
Mich.-based Society of Manufacturing Engineers, which also sponsors Fabtech.
“Westec is probably the best
regional show on the West Coast,” said Duane Drape, Horn USA, a maker of
precision cutting tools for the metalworking industry. “It draws the most
attendance, as well as a customer base that comes looking for solutions to
their problems.”
