The United Association’s 59th
annual instructor training program starts Saturday at Washtenaw Community
College in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Running until Aug. 17 and including
Industry Day Aug. 15, new technology for plumbers and pipe fitters will be on
display.
“This week is dedicated to
training the trainers who take the latest technology and best practices back to
more than 300 local unions across North America,” said Chris Haslinger, the United
Association’s director of training. “Industry Day is a great opportunity for
the industry to see first-hand how we are supporting the green building
movement. This caliber of training is unmatched anywhere else within our
industry or school systems.”
An estimated 2,000 contractors
are expected to attend. Congressman John Dingell (D-Mich.) and Sen. Debbie
Stabenow (D-Mich.) are expected to take part in the Industry Day festivities.
