Hypertherm will introduce new edge-profiling technology at Fabtech to help fabricators make more accurate bevel cuts, company officials said.
“We estimate more than 90 percent of fabricators need to apply a beveled edge to at least some of their parts,” said Aaron Brandt, who leads Hypertherm’s mechanized division. “We also know most of these fabricators spend a considerable amount of time setting up their systems through trial and error, and even then, the outcome is inconsistent. Hypertherm’s new plasma bevel technology is designed to deliver accurate and consistent bevels without that lengthy set-up time.”
The new technology is reminiscent of the company’s True Hole process, Hypertherm said. It reduces waste and optimizes bevel performance. The cut charts will be included in Hypertherm’s CNC/CAM software as will be available to companies that license the technology.
Fabtech takes place Nov. 12-14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Hypertherm’s booth is N3906.
