The chairman and CEO of Ingersoll-Rand PLC — parent company of HVAC manufacturers Trane and Thermo King — was tapped to ring the closing bell on the New York Stock Exchange April 29.
“As the 12th oldest continuously listed company on the New York Stock Exchange, we are honored to ring the closing bell of today’s trading,” said Ingersoll Chairman Michael Lamach. “We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the incredible histories of Thermo King and Trane. These storied brands continue their legacy of innovation in their respective industries and we look forward to celebrating many more milestones.”
Other executives on hand for the event include including Didier Teirlinck, president of the Climate Solutions divisions, which covers Thermo King and Trane commercial; and Residential Solutions President Gary Michel, which handles Trane and Schlage residential.
2013 marks the 100th anniversary of Trane and the 75th anniversary of Thermo King.
