ACCA members are feeling better than ever about business prospects.

The Air Conditioning Contractors of America’s Contractor Comfort Index for April was 71 — the highest it has been in the three-year history of the index. A year ago, the index stood at 68.

The number represents the surveyed short-term outlook of member companies. The contractors are asked about current business, future prospects and staffing levels. A number above 50 means more contractors feel positive than negative.

The next survey will be released at the end of May.
