The Carbon Monoxide Safety Association has given the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department in El Paso County, Colo., an award in recognition of its work to raise awareness of CO poisoning.

It works with the Pikes Peak Mechanical Contractors Association and the HVACR programs at IntelliTec College and Pikes Peak Community College.

The department provides a CO monitor calibration station to mechanical contractors and technicians who use the same personal monitor the department’s inspectors.

This ensures the monitors’ accuracy, the association said.
