Emerson Climate Technologies Inc. has debuted Copeland Scroll compressor tandem combinations for commercial HVAC that use R-410A.

This brings the total lineup to 51 uneven and 69 even tandem compressor combinations, officials said.

“Tandems can provide a viable solution for OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to address the industry standard update to include IEER (integrated energy-efficiency ratio) part-load efficiency requirements as part of the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers) 90.1 standard for light-commercial split, package and rooftop systems,” said Bart Powelson, Emerson Climate Technologies’ director of commercial marketing in the air-conditioning division. “Tandem combinations allow OEMs to boost system part load efficiency levels to meet these new energy standards and aggressive DOE (Department of Energy) challenges.”
