Warranty company American Home Shield has given $50,000 to Operation Homefront, a charity that helps military veterans with housing expenses.
The donation is earmarked for the Homes on the Homefront program, which offers mortgage-free housing for military families.
“Operation Homefront does extraordinary things for deserving military families and we’re proud to support such a worthy cause,” said Laird Hamberlin, vice president of American Home Shield. “It’s an honor to help them realize the dream of home ownership, especially given the sacrifices they’ve made for our nation and our freedoms.”
Tim Farrell, chief operating officer for Operation Homefront, said the group appreciated the gift.
"We're grateful that American Home Shield would provide such a generous gift to honor service members and their families,” Farrell said. “While all of the services we provide military and veteran families are critical, stable housing is proven to be an indispensable ingredient in making the successful transition from military service to civilian life with sustainability for the future. Operation Homefront wants every veteran to experience the American dream of home ownership, and partners like American Home Shield give homeowners a sense of security in that dream.”
