Emerson Climate Technologies Inc.’s HVAC Check & Charge mobile application has been downloaded 100,000 times.
The app also earned honorable mention in the 2014 AHR Expo awards, and has been recognized as one of the top 10 apps for skilled trades by IT Business Canada.
“The app was designed to allow contractors to perform their jobs quicker,” said Karl Zellmer, vice president of sales for Emerson Climate Technologies Inc.’s air-conditioning business. “It’s a great tool for busy contractors, and it’s a good replacement for the old sliding charge calculators, so to see that it has reached 100,000 downloads shows us that it’s doing everything that we hoped it would.”
The HVAC Check & Charge app also includes an on-site refrigerant charge calculator for air conditioning applications, allowing contractors to easily calculate correct system refrigerant charge for R-22 or R-410A.
Contractors using the app can choose between sub-cooling, superheat or airflow and enter the specified system temperatures along with the latent sensible environment loads. These settings determine the proper system charge and whether the charge amount needs to be altered based on these conditions.
