A ribbon-cutting ceremony was to be held June 10 in St. Cleburne, Texas, to unveil new HVAC construction labs at Hill College.

Officials say the new laboratories, designed by Trane, Hill College and the National Coalition of Certification Centers, will help prepare students to meet the need for skilled HVAC market technicians.

 “Hill College is committed to preparing our students to successfully compete for jobs while providing qualified technicians to fill our community’s business needs,” said Pamela Boehm, college president. “We are excited to introduce the spaces for these new cutting-edge laboratories and updated curriculum which will allow our students to learn using the latest in innovative HVAC solutions and controls.”

 The three new 3,000- square-foot laboratories, which officials say will be located on the ground floor of the city’s Walls Building, will feature the latest HVAC technologies, including two Trane water-source heat pumps. HVAC classes are expected to begin in fall 2016 at the Cleburne campus and each of the three laboratories will offer training on residential HVAC, light-commercial HVAC and building controls. The center is also training the educators who will teach the curriculum offered in the new laboratories.
