This year’s Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Expo was the best-attended in a decade, organizers said.
More than 3,000 people came to the July 16-18 event at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. It was the 93rd annual gathering for the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association.
“This FRSA event was well-timed and well-organized to facilitate the education and training of roofing professionals in Florida,” said association Executive Director Lisa Pate. “I believe our expo numbers grew this year due to the overall increase in construction activity in Florida as well as the demand for roofing professionals at a time when design and construction firms are facing a shortage of skilled labor.”
There were 350 booths taken up by 200 exhibitors for attendees to visit, and they could also attend 25 educational seminars.
Cheryl Sulock, the FRSA’s convention and expo director, predicted the 2016 show will be even bigger.
“Due to the remarkable increase in booth sales at this year’s event, we anticipate more than 350 booth spaces will be sold for the 2016 expo,” Sulock, said. “Well over 75 percent of the booths have already been reserved for next year.”
The 2016 show is scheduled for June 16-18, also at the Orange County Convention Center.
