The National Association of Home Builders welcomed U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) to his new position as House speaker.

It issued the following statement:

"NAHB congratulates Rep. Ryan on his election as the speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and wishes to thank Speaker John Boehner for his decades of service to the nation,” said Tom Woods, chairman of the NAHB and a home builder from Blue Springs, Missouri. “NAHB looks forward to working with speaker Ryan, members of the House leadership team, and all members of Congress to advance policies that that will further boost housing and economic growth."
