Daikin Applied’s says its new SmartSource Compact, a vertical, water-source heat pump, is ideal for HVAC construction contractors, facility managers, and HVAC market engineers looking for save money and maximize floor space.

“Maximizing floor space is a critical success factor of any project. The new SmartSource unit delivers premium options in a small footprint you don’t typically see even in compact equipment,” said Alan Youker, Daikin Applied product manager of water-source heat pumps and unit ventilators. “At 19 by 19 by 24 inches, it’s our smallest SmartSource unit yet, and one of the smallest units in the industry, which means buildings require a mechanical closet only a fraction of the size of what they’re usually designed to house.”

Ideal uses include condominiums, multifamily homes, hotels and residential HVAC construction, Daikin says.
