Emerson introduced an updated version of its Copeland Scroll variable-speed ZPV2 compressor and EV2 motor control drive for residential and light-commercial HVAC construction at this week's AHR Expo.
“When we look at what homeowners want from their air-conditioning systems -- superior reliability, lower energy costs and consistent comfort and temperature throughout the home—we see why modulating technologies are becoming increasingly important to the industry,” said Brandy Powell, vice president of variable speed at Emerson Climate Technologies’ air-conditioning business. “Our second generation, variable speed ZPV2 compressors and EV2 drives are optimized to increase efficiency across a range of conditions while maintaining the reliability that Copeland Scroll technology traditionally delivers.”
It features intermediate discharge valves to boost efficiency, optimized scroll elements for variable-speed performance, positive displacement oil pump and brushless permanent magnet motor technology for maximum efficiency.
