Danfoss officials were on the road a lot in 2015, visiting HVAC training schools across the country.
The HVAC controls manufacturer made 83 visits to schools, which was more than any other member of the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute, the group said.
And that was enough to win the AHRI’s 2015 Chairman’s Challenge competition. AHRI Chairman Ed Purvis established the contest, asking members of the HVAC market manufacturers association to visit HVAC construction training schools to promote industry careers.
Danfoss received the award during AHRI’s annual meeting in November 2015 in Bonita Springs, Florida.
“Danfoss is investing to help the industry address critical issues, like the workforce gap, which we can expect to only grow over the coming years,” said Danfoss North America President John Galyen. “As 50 percent of today’s contractors prepare for retirement, it is imperative that we focus on advancing the industry, starting at the technical school level, and prepare the next generation of contractors to work with the newest and emerging technologies and under a profusion of regulations and standards. This includes providing training and engaging and partnering with technical schools.”
